Strenghtening judicial system in Kosovo

Abstract: Kosovo is one of the world%s newest nations since declaring its independence in2008. Nonetheless, this small, impoverished land that has been ethnically damaged, classified by the World Bank as a fragile country, symbolizes an enigma for the work of development and diplomatic actors, especially the European Union.This entire journey for Kosovo and the international organizations, through all this year%s functioning all around this region no matter the difficulties and hard times, till the year 2009, have accomplished many of the programs and projects as priority need for state building, for leadership and management till the rule of law and democratizations.In this paper there is an in-depth research of the judicial system in the Republic of Kosovo, analyses and discussion of the progress of the functioning of the courts and other relevant institutions, mostly implemented with help and support of international organizations. There are different approaches and different methods to implement more efficient and transparent system of rule of law in order to achieve results in the judicial system of Kosovo. The main challenge remains to improve the traditional functioning of the courts, which archetype is still be present in many legal institutions of Kosovo. Through the years after independence, there are written and adopted laws and regulations in accordance of the EU legislations but insufficient efficiency in the judicial system still remains a challenge for Kosovo.
