Abstract:Politični razvoj Evropske unije (EU) je bil zapleten in dinamičen proces, ki so ga oblikovali različni dejavniki, kot so zgodovinski dogodki, institucionalne spremembe in spreminjanje nacionalnih interesov.

Title:Perspectives of the political development of European Union
Abstract:The political development of the European union (EU) has been a complex and dynamic process shaped by various factors such as historical events, institutional changes and changing national interests. This Master's thesis explores perspectives on the political development of the EU and examines the key theories and concepts that have been used to understand and explain this multifaceted development. The EU's journey from its founding as the European coal and steel community to its current form as a political and economic union of 27 member states has been marked by challenges and achievements that reflect the interaction between supranational institutions and national governments. Through a comprehensive review of scholarly works, including books, journal articles and edited volumes, this study explores the various theoretical frameworks used to analyze EU development. Prominent theories explored include liberal intergovernmentalism, neofunctionalism, and multilevel governance. In addition, the role of European institutions, such as the European parliament and the European commission, is examined in the light of their influence on policy-making and decision-making processes in the EU. The EU treaties declare the union to be based on representative democracy, and direct elections take place in the European parliament. The European union is an economic and political organization that has evolved since the end of World War II to ensure lasting peace on the European continent. Overall, the European union's climate-neutral, fair, and social Europe priority aims to promote sustainable development while ensuring social fairness and inclusion and achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
