Abstract:Magistrsko delo se ukvarja s procesi globalizacije in deglobalizacije na primeru Ruske federacije in Islamske republike Iran. Tekom raziskave ugotavljamo, kako globalni procesi, tokovi in strukture vplivajo na obe državi in njuno suverenost. S podrobnejšim prikazom novejše politične zgodovine obeh držav in njunih režimov skozi določeno obdobje, analiziramo proces avtokratizacije Rusije in Irana, kateremu smo predvsem priča v zadnjem desetletju.

Title:ANALYSIS OF GLOBALISATION AND DEGLOBALISATION PROCESSES IN THE CASE OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION AND THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN
Abstract:The Master's thesis deals with the processes of globalisation and deglobalisation in the case of the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran. In the course of the research, we identify how global processes, flows, and structures affect both countries and their sovereignty. By detailing the recent political history of the two countries and their regimes over a period of time, we analyse the process of autocratisation of Russia and Iran, which we have witnessed especially in the last decade. We also analyse and compare the political, economic, and other bilateral relations between Russia and Iran; where they have common points and where they differ. This is important to us at a time when both countries are facing international sanctions and reduced foreign trade. In a sense, both countries are forced to look for new allies and new export markets and market strategies. It is precisely for this reason that both countries are closing off to the West and opening up to new markets in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, looking for strategic partners. Russia's and Iran’s relations with global and regional structures have deteriorated in recent years, and both countries are now involved in other important regional structures that have not condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine and have not imposed sanctions on Russia. Within these structures, Russia is still considered an important global actor, and Iran, as an observer state after years of isolation, is in many places being given the opportunity to integrate into the international environment.
