Vrsta gradiva:Diplomsko delo/naloga
Tipologija:2.11 - Diplomsko delo
Metode: Izvedli smo sistematični pregled literature z metodami pregleda, analize in sinteze strokovne in znanstvene literature z deskriptivno metodo dela. Zadetke smo poiskali s pomočjo slovenskih (oziroma angleških) ključnih besed in besednih zvez, in sicer nasilje na delovnem mestu (»workplace violence«), člani negovalnega tima (»members of nursing team«), etične dileme (»ethical dilemma«), medicinske sestre (nurses) in reševanje (solving). Ključne besede smo povezali z Boolovim operatorjem AND in OR.

Naslov:ETHICAL DILEMMAS IN SOLVING VIOLENCE AGAINST MEMBERS OF THE NURSING TEAM
Opis:Theoretical starting points: Workplace violence involves hostile and unethical communication or physical contact by one or more individuals. It is most often directed at one person who, because of the abuse, is pushed into a position of helplessness, where it has no protection and where it most often remains because of continuous acts of violence at the workplace. The purpose of the diploma thesis is to determine through a literature review, which ethical dilemmas arise when solving violence against members of the nursing team. Methods: A systematic literature review was conducted using the method of reviewing, analysing and synthesising scientific literature using a descriptive work method. We used PRISMA diagram to show the progress of literature analysis. The search of literature was performed using databases such as CINAHL, PubMed, COBISS, Google Scholar and the journal Obzornik zdravstvene nege. We searched for articles using the following keywords: workplace violence, members of nursing team, ethical dilemma, nurses and solving. In reviewing the literature, we used literature that was not older than ten years, was scientific and professional, and was available in full text in Slovenian and English language. We connected the keywords using the Boolean operators AND and OR. In reviewing the literature, we conducted a content analysis of the results of the studies included in the study. We used the technique of coding and creating content categories. The obtained results were presented in the evaluation table. Results: Our research showed that violence against members of the nursing team at workplace is very common and appears in many forms. Verbal and psychological violence are the most common forms of violence to which members of the nursing team are exposed. The causes of violence in the hospital environment are various and include environmental factors, personality characteristics of medical staff, patients and relatives. It is important, however, that the members of the nursing team recognize risk factors and signs in order to be able to take appropriate and timely action. In dealing with a violent patient, the use of de-escalation methods and techniques helps to reduce the patient's aggression. The most important ethical dilemma faced by members of the nursing team in resolving violence is the conflict between their sense of professional duty and personal principles. Discussion: We found that violence in healthcare is very prevalent. Violence is unacceptable and must always be reported and acted upon. In order to manage violence in the hospital environment, strategies are needed to prevent violence and manage the negative consequences of violent events. The key is the education and training of staff, risk assessment, management practices and the development of policies that will enable the enforcement of zero tolerance to violence in all medical institutions in everyday practice.
