Največ informacij glede osebne higiene in urejenosti dojenčka so starši pridobili s strani patronažne medicinske sestre in v Šoli za starše.

Naslov:INFORMING PARENTS ABOUT TAKING CARE OF THE BABY¨S PERSONAL HYGIENE AND TIDINESS
Opis:Background: During the baby period, the personal hygiene and grooming of the child is different than usual, which means that it is necessary to adhere to certain guidelines. Also, during this time, various changes occur on the baby's skin and mucous membranes, which requires additional intensive care and appropriate measures. Parents need to be well prepared for childbirth and parenting, which also includes taking care of the baby's personal hygiene and tidiness. Parents get the most information at the School for Parents, through regular nurses visits and online. The purpose of the research was to examine parents' awareness of care for the personal hygiene and tidiness of the baby. Method: The research was based on a quantitative research approach and a descriptive work method. The primary data for the analysis was obtained using the survey technique. The research was conducted in the form of a survey questionnaire, which was published on the social network Facebook. The survey took place in the month of April 2024. Parents who were willing to fill in the questionnaire were included in the survey. Results: All parents know what temples are and most of them know what thrush is. 46,5 % (103 persons) of parents rated their knowledge about thrush as satisfactory, 25 % (55 persons) as good, 14,5 % (32 persons) as poor and 14 % (31 persons) would need additional information. 94 % (204 people) of parents know that the baby is bathed for the first time when the umbilical wound is completely healed. 30,5 % (172 persons) of parents believe that they obtained the most information from the patronage service, 24 % (134 persons) of parents identified the School for Parents as the source of information, 18 % (100 persons) of parents obtained information from relatives and 17,5 % (99 people) from their friends. 3,5% (21 people) of parents turned to the website “ZDAJ” as a source of information. Discussion: With the research, we found that the surveyed parents use olive oil, massage the scalp and comb the baby in all directions when the baby's tamples appear. Most parents refer to thrush as an oral infection caused by Candida Albicans. When intertrigo occurs, parents take care of dry skin in the area of skin folds, after the anogenital care, they leave the baby undeveloped for a while and use compresses made of oak bark. We find that most parents bathe their baby for the first time or the newborn when the umbilical wound is healed. The intimate area is washed from the front towards the anus and anogenital care is thoroughly performed both during bathing and during the actual diaper change. Parents obtained most of the information, regarding personal hygiene and tidiness of the baby, from the patronage nurse and the School for Parents.
