Rezultati: Rezultati raziskave so pokazali, da otroci in mladostniki z anoreksijo nervozo doživljajo izrazite prehranske omejitve in razvijajo posebne rituale, povezane s prehranjevanjem. Starši so poudarili pomembnost zgodnjega prepoznavanja simptomov, kar lahko prepreči resnejše zdravstvene zaplete. Otroci z anoreksijo nervozo se pogosto izogibajo določeni hrani in strogo načrtujejo svoje obroke, kar vodi v znatno izgubo telesne teže.

Title:SPECIOFICS OF NUTRITION FOR CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS WITH ANOREXIA NERVOSA
Abstract:ABSTRACT Background: Anorexia nervosa is a disease characterized by intentional or unintentional consumption of insufficient food based on age, gender, and level of physical activity. The consequence is malnutrition, which can lead children and adolescents to have a distorted view of their bodies. They become preoccupied with thoughts about food, withdraw socially, and avoid social activities. Often, they are excessively physically active and feel overflowing with energy. When identifying issues in children and adolescents, it is important to recognize that anorexia nervosa sometimes begins subtly during childhood and adolescence. Parents often do not notice that their child’s eating habits have changed, as family meals become less frequent. The purpose of the research is to examine the specifics of nutrition in children and adolescents with anorexia nervosa and the role of parents in recognizing and addressing this disorder. Methods: The study was based on a quantitative research approach and a descriptive method. For the empirical part, primary and secondary sources were collected, analyzed, and synthesized. Primary data collection was based on a structured interview template. The selected sample included parents of children with anorexia nervosa." Results: The results of the research showed that children and adolescents with anorexia nervosa experience marked dietary restrictions and develop special rituals related to eating. Parents emphasized the importance of early recognition of symptoms, which can prevent more serious health complications. Children with anorexia nervosa often avoid certain foods and strictly plan their meals, leading to significant weight loss. The psychological aspects of the disease are also crucial, as children often suffer from anxiety, depression and social isolation. Collaboration with dietitians, psychologists and physicians was recognized as essential for successful treatment. Parents also highlighted the need for greater awareness and education about anorexia nervosa in order to better support their children and reduce the stigma associated with the eating disorder. Discussion: The discussion confirms the importance of early detection and a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of anorexia nervosa. Parents play a key role in supporting children, which shows the necessity of their education and involvement in the therapeutic process. Psychological support is key to managing the mental problems associated with an eating disorder. Despite the study's limitations, such as the small sample size, the findings contribute to a better understanding of the disease and provide guidelines for further research and improvement of treatment and prevention practices.
