Title:THE INVOLVEMENT OF THE PATIENT WITH OSTEOPOROSIS IN THE HOLISTIC TREATMENT
Abstract:Osteoporosis is metabolic bone disease that is reflected in a decrease in bone strenght and mass, which increases the risk of fractures. Almost 17.000 osteoporotic fractures are recorded annually in Slovenia alone. The problem with osteoporosis is that the first signs of it usually only appear when a bone breaks, which makes early diagnosis difficult - the disease is therefore also called a silent disease. The purpose of the research was to investigate the involment of the patient with osteoporosis in the comprehensive treatment, and the goals were to find out to what extent the patients with osteoporosis know what comprehensive treatment of the patient with osteoporosis includes and to find out how the patient osteoporosis is treated after the diagnosis. At the same time, we wanted to investigate the extent to which a patient with osteoporosis receives holistic treatment and indentify shortcomings in the treatment of a patient of osteoporosis.
