Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: Porod predstavlja začetek obdobja, ko težave, povezane z nosečnostjo in porodom, lahko vztrajajo in postanejo kronične. Predlogi vključujejo večjo osveščenost o poporodnih spremembah, vključitev pisnih gradiv in nadaljnje raziskave.

Abstract:Theoretical background: childbirth marks the beginning of a period when problems related to pregnancy and childbirth can persist and become chronic. Physiotherapy (education, specific treatments, and therapeutic exercise) can improve outcomes in the postnatal period. Methods: descriptive methodology was used in the theoretical and quantitative methodology in the empirical part. The data were collected using a questionnaire. The sample consisted of 108 women who gave birth in 2024. The data were processed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS and analyzed using descriptive and interferential statistics. Results: 60.2% of respondents reported feeling prepared for the changes after childbirth. 59.3% of the respondents considered the symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunctions to be abnormal and avoidable. 54% of the respondents did not discuss the symptoms with health professionals. 4.6% of the respondents practiced pelvic floor muscle training as recommended. 60.2% of the respondents felt that they were not sufficiently educated about pelvic floor dysfunctions by health professionals. A statistically significant difference exists between the presence of low back pain in pregnancy and after childbirth. 60.2% of respondents would like to receive information in writing from their physiotherapist. Discussion: Women feel prepared for postpartum changes. They are aware that symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction are avoidable. Most of the respondents had not spoken to health professionals about the symptoms and were not sufficiently informed about the dysfunctions. A small proportion of respondents practice pelvic floor muscle training as recommended. Low back pain after childbirth is more common in women who have low back pain during pregnancy. The respondents would like to receive information and recommendations from the physiotherapist in writing. Suggestions include increased awareness of postnatal changes, inclusion of written materials, and further research.
