Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: Preeklampsija je svetovno znan zaplet v nosečnosti. Primarni podatki empiričnega dela so bili pridobljeni s tehniko intervjuvanja. Za potrebe teoretičnega dela diplomske naloge smo pridobili sekundarne podatke, s proučevanjem domače in tuje strokovne in znanstvene literature in internetnih baz.

Title:NURSING CARE OF A PREGNANT WOMAN WITH PREECLAMPSIA
Abstract:Introduction: Preeclampsia is a world-renowned pregnancy complication. It is characterised by rapid development and can cause severe complications. Comprehensive care for pregnant women with preeclampsia necessitates both physical and psychological support. Together they can lead to improved outcomes for the mother and her child. Methods: The research employed a qualitative research approach with a descriptive methodolody. Primary data for the empirical part of the thesis was collected through interviews. For the theoretical framework, secondary data was gathered through a review of professional and scientific literature, as well as relevant internet databases. Results: The results demonstrate that nursing care is vital for pregnant women suffering from preeclampsia in preventing complications and ensuring the safety of the mother and her child. Monitoring mothers blood pressure on a regular basis and close observation of signs and symptoms enable healthcare workers to detect the decline of the condition with time. Besides, psychological support for pregnant women is vital. Based on our results we found that the provision of this support varies among healthcare providers. Discussion: The interviewees demonstrated the ability to identify preeclampsia and the associated complications that pose risks to pregnant women. However, some instances of complications were managed more effectively than others. Interviewees possess varying degrees of skills in providing psychological support. Some can provide it, some cannot. But they unanimously agreed that enhancing communications skills is crucial for improving the quality of care for pregnant women with preeclampsia.
