Abstract:UVOD: Delo v domovih za starejše je fizično in psihično naporno, kar ima velik vpliv na zadovoljstvo na delovnih mestih. Za raziskovanje smo si zastavili tri raziskovalna vprašanja in tri hipoteze. METODA: V teoretičnem delu smo opredelili ključne pojme in izvedli kritični pregled literature. Deskriptivna metoda nam je omogočila analizo literature v slovenskem, angleškem in hrvaškem jeziku. Izpostavili smo pomembne pojme, jih opisali in podprli z obstoječimi študijami. V empiričnem delu smo uporabili kvantitativno metodo raziskovanja. Za zbiranje podatkov smo uporabili standardiziran anketni vprašalnik v fizični obliki, dobljene podatke pa smo analizirali v programu SPSS. Razdeljenih je bilo 561 anketnih vprašalnikov. REZULTATI: Ugotovili smo, da se stopnja zadovoljstva na delovnih mestih statistično značilno ne razlikuje glede na spol, področje dela ali delovno dobo v organizaciji. Splošno zadovoljstvo je bilo na lestvici od 1 (popolnoma nezadovoljen) do 10 (popolnoma zadovoljen) v povprečju ocenjeno s številom 6,6. Za izboljšanje zadovoljstva zaposleni v prvi vrsti s 40,3 % menijo, da bi se izboljšalo z višjo plačo, menijo pa tudi, da bi zadovoljstvo izboljšalo večje število kadra (27,7 %). Nekoliko manj jih meni, da bi zadovoljstvo izboljšali boljši medsebojni odnosi (19,7 %) ter več izobraževanj in usposabljanj (12 %). Le dva (0,4 %) pa sta podala svoj odgovor. RAZPRAVA: Zadovoljstvo na delovnem mestu je odvisno predvsem od stresa, ki ga zaposleni doživljajo, ter njihovih osebnih značilnosti in prepričanj. Ni pa odvisno od spola, področja dela in delovne dobe v organizaciji. Obstajajo dejavniki, ki bi jih organizacija lahko bolj upoštevala pri izboljševanju zadovoljstva svojih zaposlenih.

Abstract:INTRODUCTION: Working in retirement homes is physically and mentally demanding, which significantly affects job satisfaction. For the research, we set three research questions and three hypotheses. METHOD: In the theoretical part, we defined key concepts and conducted a critical literature review. The descriptive method allowed us to analyze literature in Slovenian, English, and Croatian. We highlighted important concepts, described them, and supported them with existing studies. In the empirical part, we used a quantitative research method. To collect data, we used a standardized paper-based questionnaire, and the data obtained was analyzed in SPSS. A total of 561 questionnaires were distributed. RESULTS: Our findings indicate that job satisfaction levels do not vary significantly by gender, area of work, or length of service within the organization. Overall satisfaction was rated at an average of 6.6 on a scale from 1 (completely dissatisfied) to 10 (completely satisfied). Regarding potential improvements, 40.3% of employees feel that higher pay would enhance satisfaction, while 27.7% believe that increasing staffing levels would help. Fewer employees suggest that better interpersonal relationships (19.7%) and more training and development opportunities (12%) would improve satisfaction. Only two employees (0.4%) provided unique responses. DISCUSSION: Job satisfaction primarily depends on the stress employees experience and their personal characteristics and beliefs. It does not, however, depend on gender, area of work, or length of service in the organization. There are factors that the organization could consider more closely to improve employee satisfaction.
