Abstract:Uvod: V diplomskem delu smo raziskali tematiko sporočanja slabe novice na Enoti intenzivne nege in terapije Pediatrične klinike Maribor. Spraševali smo se, po kateri metodi zdravstveni delavci sporočajo slabe novice in ali se ob tem srečujejo s stresom. Sporočanje slabe novice predstavlja zahtevno, čustveno obremenjujoče in kompleksno dejanje, s katerim se zdravstveni delavci srečujejo vsakodnevno. Od njih zahteva primerno komunikacijo in visoko mero empatije. Raziskovalna metodologija: V diplomskem delu smo v teoretičnem delu uporabili deskriptivno metodo raziskovanja, v empiričnem delu pa kvantitativno. Med zdravstvenimi delavci smo razdelili anonimni anketni vprašalnik, ki smo ga oblikovali na podlagi pregleda strokovne literature Vidigal Soeiro idr. (2022), Baile (2014), Atienza-Carrasco idr. 2018 in Kmetec idr. (2021). Rezultate smo obdelali s programom IBM SPSS statistics verzija 22. Izračunali smo frekvence in odstotke ter vzročno-posledične odvisnosti med spremenljivkami. Rezultate smo predstavili tabelarično. Rezultati: Ugotovili smo, da na Enoti ne uporabljajo nobenega od večstopenjskih modelov sporočanja slabe novice, temveč se ravnajo po svojem občutku. Izražajo pomanjkanje znanja za sporočanje slabe novice in si želijo več izobraževanj in delavnic, povezanih s to tematiko. Sporočanje slabih novic predstavlja tretji najpogostejši dejavnik doživljanja stresa pri delu. Ob tem si zaposleni od ustanove želijo več podpore v obliki pogovorov s psihologom in delavnice. Diskusija in zaključek: Sporočanje slabe novice od zdravstvenih delavcev zahteva primerno strokovno usposobljenost. Raziskava lahko predstavlja iztočnico za nadaljnje raziskovanje obravnavanega področja, za namen oblikovanja smernic in modela za sporočanje slabih novic.

Abstract:Theor e tic a l b a c k gro u n d: In this thesis, we explored the topic of delivering bad news at the Intensive Care and Therapy Unit of the Pediatric Clinic Maribor. We investigated the methods healthcare workers use to convey bad news and whether they experience stress in the process. Delivering bad news is a challenging, emotionally burdensome, and complex act that healthcare professionals face daily, requiring appropriate communication and a high level of empathy. M e t h od s In the theoretical part, we employed a descriptive research method, and in the empirical part, a quantitative approach. We distributed an anonymous questionnaire among healthcare workers, formulated based on a review of professional literature by Vidigal S oeiro et al. (2022), Baile (2014), Atienza Carrasco et al. (2018), and Kmetec et al. (2021). The results were processed using IBM SPSS Statistics version 22, calculating frequencies, percentages, and cause and effect dependencies between variables , and presented in Results: The Unit does not use multi-tiered models for delivering bad news; instead, they rely on intuition. Employees express a lack of knowledge and a desire for more education and workshops on this topic. Delivering bad news ranks as the third most common stressor at work. Employees seek more support from the institution, including conversations with psychologists and workshops. Di sc us s ion and conclusion Delivering bad news requires appropriate professional training. The research can serve as a starting point for further exploration in the field, aiming to create guidelines and a model for conveying bad news.
