Metode: V empiričnem delu diplomskega dela smo izbrali različne strokovne članke v različnih iskalnih bazah, kot so PubMed, PMC, ScienceDirect in Google Učenjak. Uporabili smo kombinacijo naslednjih besednih zvez v angleškem jeziku: »knee pain«, »manual therapy«, »osteoarthrosis«, joint mobilization«, »randomized controlled trial«, »treatment« in »physiotherapy«, ki smo jih proučili in analizirali glede na vključitvene in izključitvene kriterije.

Abstract:Theoretical background: Over the past few years, the aging population has increased significantly, and with it, joint damage, wear and tear, pain, and reduced mobility have also increased. The purpose of this diploma thesis is to investigate and present, based on professional literature, to what extent joint mobilization is effective in reducing pain and to what extent joint mobilization is effective in increasing mobility in knee osteoarthritis, and which approach is the most effective in treatment. Methods: In the empirical part of the diploma thesis, we selected various professional articles from different search databases such as PubMed, PMC, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. We used a combination of the following English phrases: "knee pain", "manual therapy", "osteoarthrosis", "joint mobilization", "randomized controlled trial", "treatment", and "physiotherapy," which we studied and analyzed according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: We included 10 selected professional articles in the diploma thesis. Most of the articles addressed knee osteoarthritis with a combination of joint mobilization and an exercise program, which proved to be very effective. Other physiotherapeutic approaches were also highlighted in the articles, but they were found to be equally effective. Discussion: After reviewing the literature, we found that various manual techniques have clinically significant effects on the range of motion and the reduction of pain in the knee joint. All of these techniques effectively improve the range of motion and reduce pain in the knee joint. As a result, the patient experiences improved mobility and vital functions. All of the above techniques are supportive forms of therapy in performing daily activities.
