Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: Cerebralna paraliza je trajna in nenapredujoča okvara možganov razvijajočega ploda ali dojenčka. Fizioterapija predstavlja pomemben del obravnave otrok s cerebralno paralizo. Uporabili smo metodo kompilacije, deskripcije, komparacije in metodo analize ter sinteze. V raziskavo smo vključili pet že opravljenih raziskav. Skupek izbranih raziskav smo predstavili s pomočjo PRISMA diagrama. Kakovost izbranih raziskav smo ocenili s pomočjo ocenjevalne lestvice PEDro. Razprava: Vloga hipoterapije pri otrocih s CP je obvladovati in preprečiti nadaljnje deformacije kosti in delovanje mišično-skeletnega sistema.

Abstract:Theoretical Background: Cerebral palsy is a permanent and non-progressive brain disorder affecting the developing fetus or infant. Physiotherapy plays a crucial role in the treatment of children with cerebral palsy. One of the most frequently mentioned physiotherapeutic methods in this context is hippotherapy. The aim of this thesis is to investigate the effects of hippotherapy on the physical functionality of children with cerebral palsy. Methods: The empirical part of the thesis is based on a qualitative research study. We used the methods of compilation, description, comparison, and analysis and synthesis. The research included five previously conducted studies. The selected studies were presented using the PRISMA diagram. We assessed the quality of the selected studies using the PEDro rating scale. Based on the research questions, we analyzed the studies and organized them into a table of categories and codes. Results: A detailed analysis of the professional literature demonstrated the positive effects of hippotherapy on physical functionality in children with cerebral palsy. The effects were observed in various areas, such as improvements in gross motor skills, sitting function, balance, and body posture, as well as a reduction in hip adductor spasticity and increased abdominal muscle strength. When comparing the effects of hippotherapy with other physiotherapeutic methods, studies indicate better results in the group where hippotherapy was applied. Discussion: The role of hippotherapy in children with cerebral palsy is to manage and prevent further bone deformities and to support the functioning of the musculoskeletal system. At the same time, its goal is to help maintain children's physical function and contribute to improving their quality of life.
