Abstract:Theoretical background: This thesis is based on a comprehensive literature review of physiotherapeutic methods used to treat cervicogenic headaches, emphasizing theoretical concepts related to the anatomy and physiology of the cervical spine as well as the etiology and diagnosis of cervicogenic headaches. The review of existing studies highlights the importance of an integrated approach that combines various therapeutic methods, such as manual therapy, mobilization, targeted exercises, and dry needling. Method: The empirical part consisted of a systematic literature review, where peer-reviewed articles were selected from databases such as ProQuest, Google Scholar, PubMed, and PEDro (2015–2025). Compilation, synthesis, and comparative analysis methods were employed to accurately assess the effectiveness of individual physiotherapeutic techniques. Results: The analysis reveals that high-velocity low-amplitude (HVLA) manipulations and dry needling provide rapid analgesic effects, while exercises aimed at strengthening deep cervical muscles enable sustainable stabilization and improve both mobility and quality of life. Discusson: The findings confirm that a multimodal approach, tailored to the individual patient’s needs, represents the most effective strategy for treating cervicogenic headaches. A comprehensive approach that combines fast-acting therapeutic effects with strategies for sustainable stabilization facilitates long-lasting improvements and reduces the risk of symptom recurrence.
