Spol ni bil pomemben dejavnik, medtem ko so imeli bolniki s predhodnimi pljučnimi obolenji več težav, a razlika ni bila statistično značilna.

Abstract:Introduction: COVID-19 infection can leave long term consequences on respiratory health, especially in individuals with pre-existing pulmonary conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Understanding the effects of different therapeutic approaches and their effectiveness is crucial for better management of the disease aftermath. Methodology: A retrospective quantitative analysis was conducted on the medical records of 126 patients treated for COVID-19 at the Health Center dr. Adolf Drolc in Maribor. The data was processed using descriptive methods, the chi-square test and logistic regression to determine associations between therapeutic approaches and long- Results: The study showed that the type of therapy used had a statistically significant impact on the likelihood of developing long term complications after the COVID-19. The combination of glucocorticoids and bronchodilators proved to be the most effective, especially in more severe cases. Gender was not a significant factor, whereas patients with pre-existing pulmonary conditions experienced more complications, although the difference was not statistically significant. Discussion and conclusion: Tailoring therapy based on the patient’s initial health status is essential for improving treatment outcomes. Long term monitoring of patients is also necessary, along with increased attention to managing the respiratory consequences of COVID-19 in clinical practice.
