Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: De Quervain sindrom je patologija dlani, ki najpogosteje nastane zaradi draženje in vnetja kit.

Abstract:Theoretical background: De Quervain's syndrome is a pathology of the hand most commonly caused by irritation and inflammation of the tendons. It is more common in women than in men. Treatment depends on the symptoms and can be conservative or surgical. Methodology: We used the compilation method, the comparative method, the descriptive method and the method of analysis and synthesis. The study included 11 studies describing the role of physiotherapy in de Qervain's syndrome in conservative treatment and after surgery. The articles were selected using the COBISS, PEDro, PubMed, Research Gate, Emeraldinsight, ProQuest and Scopus databases, and presented using the PRISMA diagram. Results: We found that there are more studies available on physiotherapeutic interventions within the framework of conservative treatment for De Quervain’s syndrome, and fewer addressing the postoperative phase. All studies included in the analysis summarized a set of physiotherapeutic methods and evaluated them accordingly. The studies indicated that, for conservative purposes, the most commonly used methods and techniques were shockwave therapy, high-intensity laser therapy, kinesiotherapy, and manual techniques such as myofascial taping and myofascial release. In postoperative rehabilitation, the most frequently included interventions were patient education, kinesiotherapy, scar massage, and compression bandaging. Discussion: It was found that a combination of physiotherapeutic methods and techniques yields positive outcomes. All studies indicate an improvement in hand function. Conclusion: In both conservative treatment and postoperative rehabilitation, physiotherapeutic intervention contributes to the reduction of symptom severity, improvement of hand function, and enhancement of the individual’s quality of life.
