Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: V nosečnosti prihaja do številnih sprememb, saj se materino telo prilagaja razvoju ploda.

Abstract:Theoretical background: Many changes occur during pregnancy as the mother's body adapts to the developing fetus. Many women continue to exercise during pregnancy, but exercise should be adapted to the woman's ability and health status, according to the exercise guidelines. Methods: A descriptive method of data collection and a quantitative method of research were used, with an online survey questionnaire comprising a total of 20 questions. The participants were 104 healthy pregnant women from all over the country who had no risk pregnancies and were expecting one child, and mothers in the first three months postpartum who answered questions about exercise during pregnancy. Results: The results of the questionnaire analysis showed that most pregnant women do exercise, but only less than half of them know the absolute and relative contraindications to exercise. We found that the media and social networks are to some extent a source of information on exercise, but that they also seek information from other sources. Respondents perceived that the main factor for low awareness was lack of attention from health professionals, while most pregnant women rated their level of awareness as moderate. Discussion: Sufficient awareness of the suitability and implementation of physical exercise during pregnancy is very important for maintaining the health of the pregnant woman and the fetus. We find that pregnant women in Slovenia are to a certain extent aware of the guidelines and recommendations for physical exercise, but further measures are needed in this area to improve knowledge and implementation of exercise in accordance with these guidelines.
