Abstract:Raziskava primerja podatkovne zbirke tipa SQL, NoSQL in vektorske zbirke glede na doslednost, prilagodljivost, razširljivost ter stroškovno učinkovitost pri sodobnih aplikacijah.

Abstract:The study compares SQL, NoSQL and vector database systems in terms of consistency, flexibility, scalability and cost-effectiveness in modern applications. Drawing on a review of the literature and an empirical performance benchmark between PostgreSQL and MongoDB, we find that relational databases are better suited to structured data and transactional workloads, whereas NoSQL solutions provide greater flexibility for unstructured data. Vector databases are the optimal choice for rapid similarity search in machine-learning systems. Because the selection of technology hinges on project requirements, a hybrid approach is often advisable.
