Abstract:Diplomska naloga preučuje, kako internet stvari (IoT) prispeva k izboljšanju kakovosti življenja ter katere dejavnike uporabniki najmočneje upoštevajo pri sprejemanju IoT tehnologij.

Abstract:The thesis examines how the Internet of Things (IoT) contributes to improving quality of life and which factors users consider most important when adopting IoT technologies. The theoretical part discusses IoT concepts, architectures, protocols, and security aspects, while the empirical part is based on a quantitative online survey (N = 72) conducted among users in Slovenia. The results show that almost all respondents use at least one smart device (98.6%), but most rate their knowledge of IoT as low to moderate. Trust in data security is moderate (65.2%); the key motivators are health and fitness monitoring as well as energy and cost savings. The highest level of interest is shown in solutions related to healthcare, smart cities, and smart homes. A gap between the usage and understanding of IoT devices was identified. We recommend greater transparency, stronger emphasis on privacy, and better user education.
