Metode: izvedli smo kvalitativno vsebinsko analizo in uporabili naslednje raziskovalne metode: metodo klasifikacije, deskripcije, kodiranja, komparacije, kompilacije in analize. Raziskave smo izbrali z vključitvenimi in izključitvenimi kriteriji prek sistema PRISMA. V empirični del smo vključili 6 raziskav, ki so vključevale okluzijsko vadbo tekom rehabilitacije mišično-skeletnih poškodb ramena, komolca, zapestja, kolena, Ahilove tetive in gležnja. 2022; Fan idr. 2023), ohranja mineralno kostno gostoto in mišično maso (Jack idr. 2022), izboljša mišično moč in omogoča hitro vračanje optimalne funkcije prizadetega uda (Jack idr. 2022; Fan idr. 2023; McGinniss idr. 2022; Karanasios idr. 2023; Killinger idr. 2019; Bentzen idr. 2024).

Abstract:Introduction: occlusion training is a form of training that in recent years has proven to be extremely effective in the early phase of rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders. Recently, more and more physiotherapists and kinesiologists are using it by their patients. Our aim was to investigate the effectiveness of occlusion training on the success of rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders. Methods: in the thesis, we performed a qualitativne content analysis and used the following research methods: classification method, desription method, coding method, comparison method, compilation method and analysis method. We selected the research using inclusion and exclusion criteria through the PRISMA system. Most of the literature used is not older than 10 years and is written in English, Slovenian, German or Serbo-Croatian language. We included 6 studies in the empirical part, which included occlusion training during the reahbilitation of musculoskeletal disorders of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee, Achilles tendon and ankle. Results: when reviewing the literature, we found out that occlusion exercise has a beneficial effect on reducing pain after surgery/traumatic injury (Jack et al. 2022; Fan et al. 2023), maintains bone mineral density and muscle mass (Jack et al. 2022), improves muscle strength and thus enable the rapid return of optimal function of the affected limb (Jack et al. 2022; Fan et al. 2023; McGinniss et al. 2022; Karanasios et al. 2023; Killinger et al. 2019; Bentzen et al. 2024). It can also be an effective tool in conservative treatment of tendon ruptures (Bentzen et al. 2024). Killinger et al. (2019) also found out that occlusion exercise in combination with submaximal eversion of the lower and dorsiflexion of the upper ankle joint has a statistically significant effect on the activation of m. tibialis anterior, while they did not demonstrate a statistically significant effect on the activation of m. fibularis longus. Exercise with occlusion has also a significant effect on the reduced saturation of the muscles (SmO2). Discussion: We found out that occlussion training plays a key role in the early rehabilitation of various musculoskeletal disorders.
