Uporabili smo deskriptivno metodo. Z ustrezno komunikacijo dosežemo kakovostno fizioterapevtsko obravnavo.

Title:Communication significance in physiotherapy with elderly people
Abstract:Introduction and purpose: Communication is extremely important in life, and it is hard to imagine any interaction between people without it. Healthcare and physiotherapy is an industry where it is impossible to work without verbal and non-verbal communication. Elderly have similar needs and ways of communicating, but their way of communication is different due to the process of aging. The physiotherapist must adapt to this, as this is the only way to achieve quality physiotherapy treatment in which communication also plays an important role. The aim of this thesis is to show the importance of verbal and non-verbal communication on physiotherapy treatment of older adults. Methods: We reviewed the current literature, expertly validated articles, researches and summarized the findings. Results: According to several authors, communication influences the outcome of physiotherapy treatment. Positive and patient-centred communication has a strong impact on the patients well-being and cooperation. Using both communication traits leads to a more comfortable rehabilitation, activation of hidden strengths, resilience and a positive view of the rehabilitation itself and its outcome. Appropriate communication results in quality physiotherapy treatment. All of this is particulary important in the treatment of elderly. Usability: Review of existing knowledge, profound understanding of the communication element and its effect on the final outcome is necessary but often non-existent. Limitations: We limited ourselves on the analysis of studies, articles that are no older than 10 years.
Keywords:communication, physiotherapy, older adults, outcome.
