Metode: Do zdaj obravnavana dejstva smo v teoretičnem delu povzeli z uporabo deskriptivne metode. Uporabili smo metodo kompilacije, deskripcije, komparacije in metodo analize ter sinteze. V raziskavo smo vključili šest opravljenih raziskav, ki smo jih našli v podatkovnih bazah Science Direct, PubMed in Google Učenjak. S PRISMA- diagramom smo prikazali proces izločevanja zadetkov. Kakovost izbranih raziskav smo ocenili s pomočjo ocenjevalne lestvice PEDro.

Abstract:Theoretical Background: Autism Spectrum Disorder is a lifelong neurodevelopmental disorder. The most problematic areas are communication, social interaction, and imagination, although difficulties may also occur in other areas. The purpose of this thesis was to explore, based on a review of professional and scientific literature, the importance of sensory integration and hippotherapy in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their impact on motor skills and overall well-being. Methods: The facts discussed so far were summarized in the theoretical part using the descriptive method. We applied methods of compilation, description, comparison, analysis, and synthesis. Six studies were included in the research, identified through the databases Science Direct, PubMed, and Google Scholar. The PRISMA diagram was used to illustrate the process of study selection. The quality of the selected studies was assessed using the PEDro scale. Based on the research questions, the studies were analyzed and categorized into a table of categories and codes. Results: We have found that both sensory integration and hippotherapy have a positive impact on children with autism spectrum disorder. Both therapeutic approaches contribute to the improvement of motor skills. Furthermore, both hippotherapy and sensory integration show significant effects on the emotional well-being of children, as they help reduce anxiety, improve emotional self-regulation, and enhance social interactions. Both interventions positively affect the daily functioning of children, which is reflected in greater independence in basic activities and better adaptation to sensory stimuli. Discussion: Our results support the thesis that sensory integration and hippotherapy are effective approaches when working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, as they improve motor skills, well-being, and daily functioning.
