Title:CRISIS OF PERSONAL IDENTITY OF WOMEN IN POST-MODERN SOCIETY
Abstract:Theoretical introduction: The thesis titled "Crisis of Personal Identity of Women in Postmodern Society" examines the role of women throughout history and the influence of modern society on their identity. The concept of identity has been the subject of debate since ancient times, but it has become increasingly complex in the context of postmodern society. The research focuses on changes in women's social roles and the influence of feminism, globalization, and contemporary values on the formation of personal identity. The theoretical part of the thesis presents key concepts such as identity, identity crisis, and postmodern society. It analyzes traditional female roles, the impact of the industrial revolution and early feminist movements, as well as the modern-day challenges women face when trying to balance career and motherhood. Special attention is given to the question of whether women were happier in the past compared to today, and how modern women can overcome an identity crisis and achieve personal fulfillment. The empirical part is based on quantitative research conducted using a survey questionnaire, through which data were collected on women's experiences of identity across different age groups. The results of the analysis offer insights into the current situation and enable a comparison between past and present-day challenges faced by women. The empirical part of the thesis is based on a survey conducted among adult women of different age groups. Data were collected through an online questionnaire that included nine closed-ended questions, one semi-open question, and a Likert scale consisting of sixteen statements. Participants expressed their level of agreement on a scale from 1 to 5, where 1 meant "strongly disagree" and 5 mean strongly agree. The aim of the research was to gain insight into the experience of personal identity in the modern social context and to identify key areas where women face the greatest internal conflict. The purpose of the research is to contribute to a better understanding of the identity crisis of women in postmodern society and to offer guidelines for strengthening personal identity and achieving life satisfaction.
Keywords:Keywords: identity, identity crisis, women's role, postmodern society, feminism, balancing career and motherhood.
