Title:Odločitveni model za izbiro ustrezne tehnologije diskovnega podsistema

Abstract:Poslovanje mnogih podjetij je resno ogroženo v primeru izgube podatkov. Pravočasen dostop do informacij podjetju dviguje konkurenčnost na trgu. Z razvojem različnih tehnologij računalniških diskov se uporabniku zastavlja vprašanje glede izbire primerne tehnologije diskov. Iskanje kompromisa med ceno, zmogljivostjo, kapaciteto in varnostjo lahko uporabnika zapelje v napačno odločitev. V magistrski nalogi sem izvedel raziskavo v kateri sem preveril zmogljivosti posameznih tehnologij računalniških diskov. Zbrane rezultate sem uporabil za izdelavo modela s podporo za več parametrsko odločanje, ki uporabniku glede na izbiro posameznih atributov skozi zalogo vrednosti poda oceno primernosti uporabe določene tehnologije. Analiziral sem neposredne in posredne stroške, ki vplivajo na izbiro tehnologije. V analizo sem vključil tudi lastnosti sodobnih diskovnih sistemov, ki omogočajo večje izkoristke uporabnih kapacitet.

Title:Odločitveni model za izbiro ustrezne tehnologije diskovnega podsistema
Abstract:For many businesses, loss of data can seriously impair their business processes. Timely access to data increases competitive advantage of companies. Development of various data storage technologies leads to the question which of them is the best. Choosing between the price, performance, storage capacity, and reliability can easily lead the user to make the wrong choice. In master's thesis, I reviewed capabilities of various data storage technologies. By using this information, I developed a multi-parameter decision making model which enables the user to determine how adequate a given data storage technology is based on a given set of parameters. I also analyzed some related expenses which can influence the choice of the technology. In my thesis, I used features of the state-of-the-art data storage systems which improve utilization of the available storage capacity.
