Abstract:A man won't appreciate happiness if he does not experience tought times. In hope of finding the right cure when conventional medicine is no longer of use, we tend to seek help from alternative medicine. Alternative medicine is still a recent branch of science. It is important to have some knowledge and a good choice of providers to be able to resort to its use. Providers of alternative medicine must have good knowledge in order to provide quality service that will satisfy their users. The purpose of the study was to determine the efficiency of alternative medicine and the trust the consumers have in it. We used the quantitative research approach, namely the descriptive method. Data acquisition was carried out with the technique of the online surveys in a web program 1KA. We have concluded that alternative medicine in Slovenia is on the rise. Users mostly use alternative medicine when they can no longer find help in conventional medicine. It was found that homoeopathy and herbal treatment or naturopathy are the most commonly used. was also found that the respondents trust in alternative medicine would increase if all the providers went through the official medical training. We believe there is a need for a renewal of Complementary and Alternative Medicine Act.
