Abstract:Unemployment is a social phenomenon which is constantly present in our environment. Increasing as well as reducing the number of people without employment follows the economic development and is in some ways a natural indicator of the state of the country. In recent years, the economic crisis has particularly emphasized the problem of young job seekers, who are most affected by reduced demand for workers, since employers generally prefer those with experience. In 2013, Employment Service of Slovenia in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities issued a report entitled Youth and the Labor market. The publication lists some of the reasons for the increase in the number of unemployed young people in Slovenia, as well as statistics confirming the situation. The European Union has also actively approached to solving the problem of youth unemployment and has taken certain directions, which obliges members to take an active operation. At the end of January 2014, the Government of Slovenia has adopted a program for young people called %Jamstvo za mlade%, which suggests a different approach to increasing the employment of young job seekers. Actions that are available to young people in the first four months of egistering as unemployed are different, as they also vary in successfulness depending on the region of egistering. Even amongst the young unemployed, there are also considerable differences in job opportunities, so in this assignment, we have focused on young people in Zasavje, which is, as a region, specific in many aspects. However, a reflection of all the problems in this area is precisely the number of young people without an employment. Nowadays, it is already clear that, at least in this area, the actions mentioned above do not bring desired and expected results.
