Abstract:Človekove pravice so pravice vseh nas. Zapisane so v Splošni deklaraciji človekovih pravic, raznih mednarodnih aktih, konvencijah in tudi v Ustavi Republike Slovenije. Pred zakonom smo vsi enaki, imamo pravico do socialne varnosti, do zdravstvenega varstva. Žal, ljudje niso vedno seznanjeni s svojimi pravicami in možnostmi varstva le-teh.

Abstract:Human rights are the rights of us all. They are written in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), variousnational acts, conventions and in Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia. They may be found in individual laws as well and enable us to mold life ourselves, at least in theory. Before the law we are all equal, have the right to social security and health care.People encounter health establishments, doctors, hospital staff and patients on daily basis. It often happens that we stumble upon mistakes, either those refering to wrong diagnosis, relations or/and false medical treatments. Unfortunately people frequently stay uninformed about their patient rights and possibillities of their legal protection. Here I will define the patient's rights in the medical field, answer who or what is setting them and describe the manners that will help us to adequaly bringthem to their effect, their realization. In this research I also wish to investigate the question whether our system is properly regulated when coming to the protection of patient's rights, fulfilling the demands. Or do both, the corruption and economic state overpower the basic rights, when they should have been respected and valued regardless the two. I wish to inform people they as patients should always know and claim their rights fully, as one never knows when he becomes a patient himself, set in a battle for their own health. In such situations it is beneficial to understand what falls under the categories of patient's rights, how to protect ourselves from violation, trangression and/or how to suitably and legaly respond when those do emerge.
