V letu 2015 so v Evropo začeli množično prihajati begunci, o katerih so poročali vsi mediji. Zanima nas, na kakšen način so o begunski krizi poročali mediji in kakšno je uresničevanje prepovedi sovražnega govora v medijskem diskurzu.

Abstract:Freedom of expression is one of the fundamental human rights that is ensured to everyone. However, the right to freedom of expression is not an absolute right as it is limited by other rights, with hate speech in particular. Here the question is raised at what point freedom of expression turns into hate speech that promotes and promulgates hate, intolerance, discrimination and racism. Hate speech is prohibited to everyone, including the media that in their wish to publish sensational news exploit the right to freedom of expression and can easily influence their users (readers or viewers) with their articles on the reality of events around the world. In 2015, refugees started coming to Europe in masses, and all media reported on this. We have researched in what way the media reported on the refugee crisis and how they respected the ban on hate speech in media discourse.
