Abstract:Analiza omrežij spada med interdisciplinarne vede, saj vključuje matematične, računalniške in družboslovne raziskovalne metode.

Abstract:Network analysis is an interdisciplinary discipline since it involves methods from mathematics, computer and social sciences. On one hand, it discovers regularities in networks while on the other hand explains the reasons behind them. Despite the various forms of real networks, they have some common characteristics. In this BSs thesis we will try to confirm the hypothesis that the observed sample of Facebook subnetwork has properties that follow basic theoretical assumptions, such as (i) the size and the diameter of the network (theory suggest an assumption that the diameter of the network is six), (ii) number and size of components (theory indicates that average network consists of one large and several smaller component) and (iii) degree distribution follows the power law. All this needs a large number of individual sub-networks, which will be analyzed using program R for statistical computing and graphics.
