Abstract:Dandanašnji ima elektronska pošta pomembno vlogo v naši družbi.

Abstract:In today's time, email messages have gained an important role in our society. Email usage ranges from personal communication with our family and friends, to business communication all over the world. Governments are as well no exception to this, since they too use email for communicating with citizens, just as do military organizations in their secretive communications, provided the latter are encrypted. Email messages have gained an important role in digital forensics because of the various data that can be transferred, being either textual communications or various files, such as photographs, video or any kind of documents. All this has led to email becoming another kind of evidence, which can be used in court proceedings in either criminal or civil law. Nevertheless, for evidence to be collected, tools for this purpose had to be developed.
