Zaradi obvladovanja nastalega položaja in zaščite evra bo v prihodnje prav gotovo prišlo do sprememb pravnega reda Evropske unije in s tem pogodb, na katerih temelji evropska integracija.

Abstract:First ideas of united Europe predate even the second world war. Those ideas became reality after 1945 when Europe was in deep economic and political crisis. In order to resolve the crisis, the European Coal and Steel Community was founded by six member states in Paris in 1951. All those six members agreed to open their borders and to form the common market for coal and steel. Subsequent desires for greater economic cooperation led to the foundation of the European Economic Community in 1957, which is based on the Treaty of Rome. This treaty also provided the basis for a foundation of the first European institutions which began to promote the interests of member countries. Integration of Europe was not only economic but also political, monetary and social, which led to the creation of the European Union, as we know it today. The Treaty on European Union was signed in Maastricht in 1992 and represents an important milestone of European integration. The basis of European integration are also the treaties that accompanied its enlargements. There are currently 28 member countries in European Union. Every European country with free market economy and sufficient human rights standards can apply for the EU membership. By joining the European Union, the countries commit themselves to harmonize their legislation with the acquisand to recognize the supremacy of EU law. An upgrade of European Union is the European monetary Union, which brings a common currency the euro. For entry into the European Monetary Union, Member States must meet the convergence criteria outlined in the Maastricht Treaty. After the outbreak of the economic and financial crisis in 2008, Europe found itself in a difficult situation. Some member countries are confronted with major difficulties in economy, public finances and financial sector. An effective coping with this difficulties and defending the euro will undoubtedly manifest itself in the change of EU acquis - especially the treaties on which the European integration is based. This thesis outlines the importance of the acquisfor the integration of EU member countries in the future and its effect on mitigation, and gradual solution for the problems they face.
