Abstract:Islam is the second largest religion in the world and in the world today is primarily known for their deviant behaviors which are different from the rest of the world. Muslim way of life in most cases is not in line with the UN Declaration on Human Rights. In 2014, a group of Islamic extremists established Islamic state and a caliphate based on Sharia law. Because of their desire for universal Islamization of the world, we are now facing a terrorist suicide attacks and executions based on discriminatory principles and waiting that someone will take action. The UN Security Council has the power to urge in such cases but unfortunately so far they haven't used their jurisdiction. Adopted resolutions and endless conversations apparently will not stop Islamic state. Is the protection of human rights and freedoms remaining a dead letter on paper? This thesis describes the principles of Islam, the function of the Security Council in international enviorment and deeds of the Islamic countries. It deals with the question of the competence of the Security Council and its actions against Islamic state.
