Abstract:V uvodnem delu raziskave smo predstavili in opredelili pojem podatkovnega skladišča ter preučili šest podatkovnih baz, ki se najpogosteje uporabljajo za namene podatkovnega skladiščenja: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MS SQL, Oracle in DB2. Izvorno podatkovno bazo v MS Accessu smo migrirali v podatkovna skladišča v prej naštetih bazah.

Abstract:In the introductory part of the research we have presented and defined the concept of a data warehouse and examined the six databases which are most frequently used for the purpose of data warehousing: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MS SQL, Oracle and DB2. We have migrated a source database in MS Access into data warehouses using databases mentioned above. We have examined the criteria that influence the selection of a data warehouse for a small company, and based on that formed a criteria tree. With the decision support system DEXi, we have performed a multi-attribute comparative analysis of data warehouses and an additional analysis with the VREDANA tool. We have performed a SWOT analysis for the best scored data warehouse. We have concluded that MySQL best meets the criteria, as scored highest in final evaluation, followed by PostgreSQL, DB2, MongoDB, MS SQL and Oracle.
