Spletna omrežja uporabljajo za klepetanje s prijatelji, igranje iger, ustvarjanje novih poznanstev, deljenje fotografij, všečkanje strani znanih ljudi, slik, statusov ipd.

Abstract:Usage of online social networking sites has rapidly grown in the last few years. Among the users are also teenagers and even children. They use social networking sites for chatting with friends, playing games, creating new friends, sharing photographs and liking pages, photographs, statuses etc. The most popular sites, currently used by young people, are Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. When using them, they rarely think about privacy settings, consequences of sharing photographs and other threats that can be found there. Teenagers, even children less than ten years old, spend hours on these sites, where they are competing who is going to have more online friends and followers. Because of that, many of them are accepting friend requests from strangers and doing so, they increase their chances for variety of attacks. They do not acknowledge the risks such as malware, identity theft, account abuse, cyber bullying, addiction and online sexual predators. Parents can help with supervision, informing children and talking to them, so they give them a sense of security. In this way children will come to them for help and advice.
