Abstract:V magistrski nalogi obravnavamo tehnične in organizacijske vidike zagotavljanja informacijske varnosti v slovenskih javnih knjižnicah. Slaba odzivnost anketirancev omejuje veljavnost rezultatov. Ugotovitve raziskave zato predstavljajo le izhodišče za širšo razpravo o zagotavljanju informacijske varnosti v slovenskih knjižnicah.

Abstract:The master's thesis discusses technical and organizational aspects of the information security in the Slovenian publicly financed libraries. They apply different information systems – from library information systems to support performance of library services, to business information systems to support organisation and managing businesses, as well as document systems. As they support administrative functions and preservation of business documents, the information security management plays the crucial role. The goal of the survey was to determine the libraries’ awareness of certain aspects of the information security, and the technique of its application. Research data were obtained from a case study and a survey consisting of two survey questionnaires: the first was targeted at the people responsible for information security of a library, while the second opinion poll addressed the libraries’ employees. As part of the case study, documents and procedures referring to information security in a single library were analysed. The results pointed out to examples of good practice, and some of the security risks in the conduct of the employees. A low response rate restricts the validity of the results. Research findings may serve only as a starting point of a broader debate about the provision of information security in the Slovenian libraries.
