Abstract:

Abstract:
The diploma thesis researches the topic of human trafficking, which is present on all continents of the developed and less developed world. Human trafficking has always been a part of humanity. European Union has been dealing with the problem in the last twenty years. Many measures have been passed that face with the problem seriously and intensively. European Union has an important role in establishing its plans and institutions, which importantly influences the national legislation of the member states. We can notice bigger changes in legislation and legal practice, which contribute to standardization of the term. Government and non-government organizations actively face with the problem and have an important role to inform people with their campaigns. Human trafficking appears in many different forms. The traffic flow usually goes from economically weaker states to the wealthier ones. The widest spread form is sexual abuse. Criminalization and decriminalization of prostitution do not affect numbers of human trafficking. The system only adapts to the states legislation. The states in European Union can be the states of source, transit or final destinations. European Union has improved in the past years with its plans, instruments, and measures against the human trafficking. However, there has been a lot of work at the area left for the future.
