Language: Slovenian Work type: Master's thesis/paper Tipology: 2.09 - Master's Thesis Organization: Not in organisation Abstract: Slovenija in Turčija sta diplomatske odnose vzpostavili avgusta 1992, potem ko je Turčija februarja istega leta priznala Slovenijo kot suvereno in neodvisno državo, slovensko veleposlaništvo pa v Ankari deluje od septembra 1996. Državi sta leta 2011 sklenili memorandum o slovensko-turškem strateškem partnerstvu, s katerim priznavata, da odnosi med njima temeljijo na trdnem zavezništvu, prijateljstvu in medsebojnem zaupanju. Čeprav se blagovna menjava med državama v zadnjih letih povečuje, bilateralni gospodarski odnosi še niso razvili polnega potenciala. Turško gospodarstvo je med največjimi na svetu. Gre za velik in mogočen trg, zato je brez lokalne pomoči vstop nanj veliko težji. Pri krepitvi gospodarskega sodelovanja med državama imajo pomembno vlogo častni konzuli, ki so v zadnjih desetletjih postali nepogrešljiv del diplomatsko-konzularne dejavnosti, njeno nujno dopolnilo, še posebej v majhnih državah. Svojo funkcijo opravljajo brezplačno, zato so priročna in stroškovno učinkovita rešitev za krepitev diplomatsko-konzularne mreže. Častni konzuli so namreč za gospodarstvenike pomembna vez pri sklepanju poslov z lokalnimi poslovneži v Turčiji, saj poznajo lokalne navade in razmere ter imajo dobro razvito mrežo poslovnih povezav. Slovenija je v Turčiji vzpostavila močno mrežo častnih konzulov, ki jo sestavlja devet častnih konzulov, razporejenih po celotni državi, ki zastopajo interese slovenskega gospodarstva in slovenskim podjetjem odpirajo vrata na turški trg. Za slovenska podjetja je ključno, da izkoristijo pomoč častnih konzulov pri vstopu na turški trg, zato je zavedanje slovenskih podjetij o pomembnosti te funkcije ključnega pomena. Title:	Častni konzuli Republike Slovenije v Republiki Turčiji
Abstract:	Slovenia and Turkey established diplomatic relations in August 1992 after Turkey recognized Slovenia as a sovereign and independent state in February of the same year. Slovenian embassy in Ankara has been operating since September 1996. In 2011, the two countries concluded a memorandum on the Slovenian-Turkish strategic partnership, recognizing that the relations between them are based on a strong alliance, friendship and mutual trust. Although trade between the two countries has increased in recent years, bilateral economic relations have not developed their full potential yet. Turkey's economy is among the largest in the world. It is a large and mighty market, therefore entry is much more difficult without local help. Honorary consuls, who have become an indispensable part of diplomatic and consular activity in recent decades, especially in the case of small states, play a vital role in enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries. They perform their function free of charge, so they are a very convenient and cost-effective solution in the direction of strengthening the diplomatic and consular network. Honorary consuls are an important link for Slovenian companies to do business with local businessmen in Turkey, as they are familiar with local customs and affairs and have a well-developed network of business connections. Slovenia has established a strong network of honorary consuls in Turkey, consisting of nine honorary consuls spread across the country, representing the interests of the Slovenian economy and opening Slovenian businesses to the Turkish market. It is crucial for Slovenian companies to use the assistance of honorary consuls to enter the Turkish market, that is why awareness of Slovenian companies about the significance of honorary consuls is of utmost importance.
