Abstract:Osrednji predmet proučevanja magistrskega dela je pojem dostojanstva in prava. Hipoteze so bile preverjene s pomočjo statističnega paketa SPSS V24. Ugotovili smo slabše poznavanje pomena dostojanstvo med anketiranimi pacienti. Večina ne zna pojasniti, kaj obsega dostojanstvo oz. pravica do dostojanstva. Zelo pogosto so anketiranim zagotovljeni stiki s svojci. Najpogosteje anketirani pacienti zdravstvenemu osebju pripisujejo prijaznost, poslušnost in pozornost.

Abstract:The master's thesis main subject of studying is the concept of dignity and law. It is a fundamental human right and it is also a right that is often violated in everyday life. The purpose of the thesis is to draw attention to this fundamental human right when an individual finds himself in the role of a patient and this right is violated which is often ignored. In the research part of the master's thesis, the knowledge of this right among patients, who were already hospitalized, was established. The research part was based on the quantitative methodology of work. The sample consisted of 92 hospitalized patients. The hypotheses were verified using the statistical package SPSS V24. Poor knowledge of the meaning of dignity among the interviewed patients was established. The majority cannot explain what comprises dignity or the right to dignity. The results showed a high degree of respect for dignity in communicating with healthcare professionals. Very often the respondents are provided with contact with their relatives. When under treatment with other patients they are often given equal treatment, their conversation with the doctor is enabled, and they are informed and listened to. Neither rarely nor often are they provided with the protection of personal data, privacy and peace. The most frequently surveyed patients attribute to healthcare staff kindness, obedience and attention. It was found, according to the respondents, that the lack of staff is the most common reason for the violation of the right to dignity, but also that the employees do not have enough time. Often the reasons are also poor communication and bad relations among employees. The results highlighted poor patients' awareness of the concept of dignity and of possible disrespect or disregard of patients' dignity in health care.
