Abstract:ZUPAN, Ina: Pomen respiratorne fizioterapije pri kardiokirurškem pacientu pred in po operativnem posegu. Ključne besede: Respiratorna fizioterapija, kardiokirurški pacient, predoperativna in pooperativna respiratorna fizioterapija. Title:THE IMPORTANCE OF RESPIRATORY PHYSIOTHERAPY IN CARDIOLOGICAL PATIENT BEFORE AND AFTER SURGERY
Abstract:ZUPAN, Ina: The importance of respiratory physiotherapy in the cardiological patient before and after surgery. Introduction and purpose: Respiratory physiotherapy is a field of medicine that prevents and treats respiratory complications. The aim of this thesis is to review the professional literature concerning the topic of respiratory physiotherapy of a patient before and after cardiac surgery. The goal is to obtain information whether applying respiratory physiotherapy techniques before and after cardiac surgery affects postoperative rehabilitation. Results: Pre- and postoperative respiratory physiotherapy was found to improve the lung volume after cardiac surgery in four out of six cases, and an improved pulmonary function in three out of four cases. The study groups utilizing pre- or postoperative respiratory treatment showed less postoperative pulmonary complications, fewer cases of atelectasis, shorter postoperative mechanical ventilation, and a shorter time spent in the intensive care unit. Usability: The research validates the fact that pre- and post-operative respiratory physiotherapy leads to rehabilitation with less postoperative complications in the case of cardiac surgery patients. Limitations: Varying durations of pre- and postoperative respiratory treatments, use of different respiratory methods, and small study groups. Keywords: Respiratory physiotherapy, pre-operative and postoperative respiratory physiotherapy. Type of work: Bachelor's Thesis, the Year 2020; Fizioterapevtika, 46 (36) p., 4 tab., 61 ref. Supervisor (S. Videnšek), Reviewer (M. Amon).
Keywords:Respiratory physiotherapy, pre-operative and postoperative respiratory physiotherapy.
