Abstract:Dolgotrajna oskrba je aktualna problematika v Evropi in v Sloveniji. Magistrsko delo proučuje razvitost dolgotrajne oskrbe v Sloveniji in razpoložljivost različnih oblik oskrbe starostnikov.

Abstract:Long-term care is a current issue in Europe and Slovenia. Given the challenge of an aging population, municipalities will have to increase expenditure on long-term care in future just to maintain the status quo. The improvement is delayed every year, as the profession is struggling to find solutions. The master's thesis studies the development of long-term care in Slovenia and the availability of various forms of care for the elderly. In addition to the presentation of the most common forms of social infrastructure for the care of the elderly, capacities and demand are also presented. The theoretical part of the master's thesis consists of analyses and summaries of existing research and literature, and interpretation of publicly available statistical data. The practical part is the result of the answers to the questionnaire, which will be sent to all municipalities of the Middleslovenian statistical region. In addition to the analysis of the answers to the questionnaire, the basis for confirming or rejecting the hypothesis will also be publicly available statistical data. The purpose of the master's thesis is to present the current issue of population aging, which affects the growing need to establish a functioning system that will systematically regulate the field of long-term care. The purpose is also to draw attention to the inequal levels of access to care between the statistical regions of Slovenia. The aim of the master's thesis is to determine whether there are differences between the supply and demand of social infrastructure in the care systems for the elderly between Middleslovenian and other statistical regions and to confirm the hypothesis based on the findings. In the thesis, we found that there are differences between supply and demand between Middleslovenian and other statistical regions, in addition to the fact that demand significantly exceeds supply. The findings of the master's thesis could be used by the profession as guidelines for suitable solutions that would mitigate the negative consequences of population aging and, based on the results, approach the search for solutions whose positive effects would eventually be felt by all.
