To spodbuja težnje novejših generacij po izobraževanju, medtem ko njihov individualizem, v smislu lastne odgovornosti in ambicioznosti, spodbuja tekmovalnost, neučakanost in materializem.

Abstract:In the dissertation, which is divided into six chapter, the aim was to find the main cause for the recent increase of private tutoring in Goriška. After the theoretical part, where the education, the tutoring and the main differences between generations is defined, what followed was a quantitative and qualitative research. The results have clearly demonstrated that the reasons for the increase of tutoring can be found in social changes, which are the product of quickly growing individualism and thus, affect the system of formal education. The society and the economy strive towards highly educated, competitive and effective work force, which should also be obedient. These tendencies encourage the latest generations to seek higher and higher education whilst at the same time, their individualism, in the sense of personal responsibility and ambition, encourages competitiveness, impatience and conformism. The latter appears to be a consequence of constant adjustment in the frame of productive capitalism. The research showed that the highest increase in tutoring can be found in secondary schools mostly due to differences between primary and secondary school education, especially in terms of individualism, preparations for exams, and homework. The research also showed that the children in time of schooling, by reason of competitiveness, are limited in their ability to think creatively, and solve problems effectively seeing that driven by their desires to succeed in educational system, they live in constant battle with themselves and have little to no time to satisfy their own needs. Tutoring lessons are clearly becoming multi-layered, and are used as a way to increase knowledge but also a way to build self-confidence and motivation. Therefore, tutoring represents the foundation for healthy and stronger self-image and at the same time, it represents the path towards realising personal goals, the path towards achieving the desired level of knowledge and to satisfy the society’s expectations, which consequently means success between peers. Societies strongly believe that knowledge and successful education represent the key which leads to better employment, pay check and an overall acceptance.
