Abstract:Magistrska naloga sestoji iz teoretičnega in empiričnega dela, kjer sem v prvem delu raziskala in razložila koncepte in razlage homoseksualnosti in njenega historično družbenega okvirja.

Abstract:This master thesis consists of theoretical and empiric part, where in the first part, I've extensively researched and explained concepts and explainations of homosexuality and its historic and social background. The concept of identity has also been presented, where I've distinguished personal and social identity and explained the concept of homosexual sexual identity after theorhetics like V. Cass and K. Plummer. I've further explained the process of disclosure after Roman Kuhar, coming out to yourself and to the family, to friends and at work. Also, I've disscused heteronormativity, homophobia and homophobic actions, all of which can be an enormous obstacle in the process of coming out and I also added Marshall's concept that presents the obstacles on the way to coming out. All this is followed by an empiric part of the thesis. I've have conducted a qualitative reasearch, whose participants were already out of the closet. In a structured interview, using open type questions, I wanted to learn more about the process of coming out. My biggest interests were the course of coming out, the consequences it had and what all that meant to the homosexual person in question; what were the most common problems, distresses and dilemmas they faced when coming out to the family, friends and at work; what were the dynamics of disclosing a homosexual relationship and how are they reassured with their sexuality today.
