Abstract:In Slovenia and elsewhere in Europe there is a huge payment indiscipline that causes a lot of troubles to business entities. Nowadays, non-payment and late payment of financial responsibilities are increasing. If a company has trouble, it is jeopardizing not only itself, but also the ability to pay of its business partners. This master’s thesis seeks to explore the influence of employees in small and fairly large companies in Dolenjska and Bela Krajina that are dealing with recovery of debt from their debtors. Based on a qualitative research with partially structured questions, we wanted to find answers to previously stated questions by interwieving previously chosen discussion partners. We were trying to establish how and by what means do the employees working in debt recovery collect debt from their business partners as quickly as possible. Our research establishes that a manner of work is a key factor when it comes to the efficiency and successfulness of debt recovery. Employees in companies that were involved in the research have broad knowledge, great communication skills and a professional relationship with their business partners. Adherence to rules, caution, consistency and openness to creativity are crucial qualities in employees who contribute to a more successful and efficient debt recovery from their debtors. In such manner, they act responsibly toward their company and business partners.
