Abstract:V magistrskem delu povezano obravnavamo dva sodobna organizacijska in družbena koncepta: projektni menedžment in medkulturne kompetence.

Abstract:This master’s thesis deals with two interlinked, contemporary organisational and social concepts: project management and intercultural competencies. Based on a complex research approach including both qualitative and quantitative analyses of the phenomena and the underlying principles, the key socio-cultural factors of project management as the concepts of managing process activities and project resources along with management of the people working on the projects through communication are defined on one hand, and the key elements of intercultural competencies which are indispensable for successful project managers and project teams in global operations and in an intercultural environment are underlined on the other. Through empirical study, with a qualitative analysis of semi-structured interviews with project managers who have the relevant experience in project work in an international environment as well as through an online questionnaire survey was detect that intercultural competences of project managers are positively correlated with the performance of projects in an intercultural and international environment, and that personal values and competencies of managers and members of the project have a very significant impact on project management. A key contribution of the master thesis is exposed to the fact that possession and control of a series of specific abilities for intercultural conflict management and effective communication among stakeholders, positive impact on the successful implementation of the global project.
