Abstract:Razviti svet se stara in vedno bolj čuti neugodno razmerje med starostnimi skupinami.

Abstract:The developed world is ageing and the imbalance in the population age structure is increasing. Population ageing poses many challenges at all levels of society. One of them is provision of housing care for the elderly. The vulnerability of the elderly reminds us daily that it is high time we started implementing measures in the field of housing and deinstitutionalisation of the elderly more intensively. For most people, the idea of autonomy, independence, security, and well-being is closely linked to the idea of their home. This becomes even stronger in old age and the right to choose how and where a person will spend the old age is inalienable. The main purpose of the master's thesis was to study and present the current situation in the field of extra care housing for the elderly in the City Municipality of Ptuj, in reference to the general situation in Slovenia. According to a survey conducted on a selected sample of elderly people, it has been established that the respondents are not satisfied with the solutions regarding sheltered housing for the elderly in the Municipality of Ptuj. In addition to the residential care home for the elderly, the respondents primarily express their wish for extra care housing. Above all, they want to live in their home environment, where they feel secure, independent and autonomous. The results reflect the real situation in the field of residential care for the elderly and represent a significant contribution to shaping and implementing the proposals for its improvemen
