Abstract:Diplomsko delo je namenjeno spoznavanju Aspergerjevega sindroma in njegovih značilnosti v navezavi s kognitivno vedenjskim pristopom. V prvem delu diplomskega dela smo uvodoma predstavili spekter avtističnih motenj in kratko zgodovino avtizma. S pomočjo podatkov, ki smo jih zbrali v strokovni literaturi, v prvem delu opišemo glavne specifike spektra avtističnih motenj in Aspergerjevega sindroma. Ta teoretična spoznanja so primerjana z življenskimi izkušnjami oseb z Aspergerjevim sindromom in njihovimi sorodniki.

Abstract:The diploma work is intended to learn about Asperger's syndrome and its characteristics in relation to the cognitive behavioral approach. In the first part of the diploma thesis we presented the spectrum of autistic disorders and the short history of autism. Here, over the last years, many things have changed from the very concept of disorder to different etiology. This is followed by a more comprehensive chapter dedicated to Asperger's syndrome and its key features. Using the data collected in the professional literature, in the first part, we describe the main specifics of the spectrum of autism disorders and Asperger's syndrome. These theoretical findings are compared with the life experiences of people with Asperger's syndrome and their relatives. As part of this work, the importance of diagnosis and early treatment has also been highlighted, which has proved to be crucial when we talk about the quality of life of a person with Asperger's syndrome. In the second part of the diploma thesis we focus on cognitive behavioral therapy and in the introduction we describe its principles and main characteristics and objectives of this approach. More attention in this part is devoted to the connection between Asperger's syndrome and the cognitive behavioral approach, and the modification of techniques useful for dealing with a person with Asperger's syndrome. The following describes the treatment of a person with sindrom, how to reduce disturbing disorders, and improve the individual's functioning as much as possible. One of the sub-sections is also devoted to the importance of family and cognitive behavioral therapy. The practice has shown a great deal of connection between them. The last larger section is intended for the conclusion, summarizing all the important findings of the diploma work.
