Abstract:Romi so manjšinska etična skupina brez svoje matične države. S pomočjo intervjujev smo zbrali podatke o udejanjanju politik v izobraževalnem sistemu Republike Slovenije. Na koncu so v zaključku podane ugotovitve in načini za izboljšanje stanja na področju pridobivanja znanja pripadnikov romske skupnosti.

Abstract:Roma are a minority population without a home country. Due to specific issues, it can be difficult for them to integrate into the environment and consequently into the educational system. The present work outlines the basic concepts encountered when considering the Roma history and traditions. At European Union level, several documents were adopted on the topic of Roma inclusion in the society and the improvement of their situation. Our focus was on the new document “National Program of Action of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia for Roma 2017– 2021” and on the list of existing policies in Slovenia. Thus, Roma access to the education system is presented and the large number of relevant documents is shown. A real record of on the ground situation is not available, because data collection is ethically controversial, although it is rational and important for further development of the Roma population. As an example the current project “Together for knowledge – implementing activities of knowledge acquisition support mechanisms for members of the Roma community”, which is being co-ordinated by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport until 2021 is presented in detail. Data on policies implementation in the education system of the Republic of Slovenia was collected through interviews. To conclude, the findings and methods for improved knowledge acquisition for members of the Roma community are presented.
