Sledi sociološki vidik oblikovanja prehranjevalnih navad, kako nanje vpliva družina, fizično okolje, vrstniki in mediji. Zanimale so me predvsem njihove prehranjevalne navade, uživanje zajtrkov, uživanje sadja in zelenjave, sokov, sladkarij ter samoocena prehranjevalnih navad. Z rezultati ugotovitev sem odgovorila na zastavljena raziskovalna vprašanja in preverjala zastavljene hipoteze.

Abstract:In my diploma work I focused on eating habits of young people, the primary school pupils. In the theoretical part I defined what a healthy diet is. I wrote about the importance of breakfast in everyday nourishment. Having breakfast is one of the key factors for a healthy beginning of the day. It is especially important for the primary school pupils to eat breakfast. Further, I described the importance of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, fruits and vegetables in the diet. The next part of my work is about the sociological aspect of eating habits formation. I described how it is influenced by one’s family, his physical environment, his peers and the media. As food is not only the means of satisfying one’s hunger I also wrote about its psychological importance: how feelings are reflected in food and what mistakes the parents can make when they use food as a symbol of a reward. As I was interested in the primary school pupils’ nourishment I described eating at school, its statutory definition and possible further measures to improve the eating habits of young people. In the empirical part of the work I tried to prove my theoretical knowledge in practice. I made survey questionnaires and distributed them among the pupils of three primary schools in my home town. I was interested in their eating habits, having breakfast, consuming fruits, vegetables, juices, sweets and in the self-evaluation of their eating habits. With the results of the findings that I had reached I answered the research questions that I had asked in the survey and checked the formulated hypotheses.
