Abstract:V vsakdanjem življenju se pogosto srečujemo s pojmom motivacije.

Abstract:The notion of motivation is something that we often encounter in our everyday life. Every individual that wishes to compete in the labour market has to see to their progress, constant improvement and education. We often wonder about the reason for someone’s motivation, seeing as others are content with themselves, and about the origin of this impulse, this motive that pulls an individual out of their comfort zone. In the research paper, I wanted to focus on the motivation for education. Consequently, in the first part of the paper, the notions of motivation and adult education are explained. In the second part, my focus is directed towards quantitative and qualitative methods that were used to shed light on the hypotheses. In the diploma thesis I wanted to explore the topic of employees’ motivation for education at the Regional office Nova Gorica of the Employment Service of Slovenia and also to enquire as to how the change in legislation affected employee education. I came to the conclusion that the participants who study for the sake of legislation feel a lot less motivated than those studying according to their own desire.
