Abstract:V diplomskem delu bomo obravnavali problematiko zasvojenosti, osredotočili se bomo na aspekt vzdrževanja abstinence. Za vzorčenje smo si izbrali neverjetnostni namenski vzorec, in sicer izpeljali smo štiri intervjuje z uporabniki komunske Skupnosti Žarek v Bohinju. Z njimi smo izvedli poglobljene pol-strukturirane intervjuje, preko katerih smo dobili realen in pristen vpogled v doživljanje zasvojenosti.

Abstract:In this diploma paper we will deal with the issue of addiction, i.e. we will be focusing on the aspect of maintaining abstinence. We are interested to find out what motivates an addicted individual to decide on abstinence, and the role the rehabilitation programme they have chosen plays. Due to a deeper and complex nature of the issue, we decided to conduct a qualitative research, since we are interested in the personal aspects and observations of individuals with their own experience of addiction. For sampling, we selected purposive nonprobability sample, i.e. we conducted four interviews among users of the Žarek commune in Bohinj. That is, we conducted in-depth semi-structured interviews, through which we gained a realistic and genuine insight into the experience of addiction. We examined different periods in their lives, i.e. first we focused on the pre-addiction period, adolescence and the first contact with drugs, the rehabilitation period and lastly the process of self-reflection during the rehabilitation period, which partly relates to their outlook on the future. We have come to the conclusion that the individual must “hit the bottom” to then be able to rise upwards; in other words, the right time must come when the individual is literally tired of living with addiction, because it is only then he or she is ready to make a concrete lifestyle change, which demands a lot of effort, perseverance and self-reflection on their part. In addition, we also found that the programme in which they participate can immensely help in their recovery, as it offers them various tools for coping with interpersonal relationships and everyday life, including the problems this brings.
